People living in Catterick and the wider Richmondshire area are being invited to attend drop-in events where two major regeneration projects will be showcased.
In Catterick Garrison, work is under way to build a flagship ‘integrated care campus’, funded by the NHS and Ministry of Defence (MOD), which will provide medical and care services for military personnel and their families, as well the civilian population in Catterick and wider Richmondshire area.

At the same time, plans to regenerate Catterick Town Centre with £19 million secured through the Government’s Levelling Up fund, together with investment from North Yorkshire Council and the MOD are beginning to take shape.
The project will see a new town square in Shute Road, extra retail and commercial premises, improved pedestrian access, together with a new community building, improved play areas, footpaths and cycle routes.

This month’s informal drop-in events, organised by North Yorkshire Council, the MOD and NHS are aimed at giving people the opportunity to see more detailed plans for the two schemes, talk to those involved and ask any questions. The events are on:-
- Friday 24 May, 10am-1pm, Richmond Indoor Market, Market Place
- Friday 24 May, 2pm-5pm, Richmond Community Library, Queen’s Road
- Thursday 30 May, 2pm-6pm, Catterick Garrison Library / Leisure Centre, Gough Road
- Friday 31 May, 9am-noon, Colburn Village Hall
- Friday 31 May, 2pm-6pm, Catterick Garrison Tesco supermarket, Richmondshire Walk
NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board’s (ICB) Deputy Place Director, North Yorkshire, Lisa Pope, said: “The Catterick Integrated Care Campus has been almost 10 years in the making, but with construction work under way, our vision is inching ever closer to becoming reality.
“Together with our partners from the MOD, NHS Property Services and local authority, we’re looking forward to seeing people at the public drop-in events and explaining more about what the integrated care campus will bring to Catterick and the wider Richmondshire community.”
North Yorkshire Council leader, Cllr Carl Les, said: “Our exciting project to transform the centre of Catterick Garrison and greatly improve amenities for the local community is starting to take shape with building working beginning this summer.
“It will benefit everyone living and working in communities around the garrison, as well as the service personnel and their families who are stationed at Catterick and who play a vital role in the life of our county.”
David Brewer, Chief Operating Officer of the MOD’s Defence Infrastructure Organisation, said: “The town centre redevelopment and Integrated Care Campus will each provide fantastic new facilities for both the military and civilian population of Catterick, and together mark a really significant and positive step forward for the town.
