Members of the public are invited to help shape plans for the future of health and care in Humber, Coast and Vale at engagement events taking place across the region this summer.
The NHS Long Term Plan, published in January 2019, sets the direction of travel for the NHS over the next ten years and identifies a series of ambitions that will help to improve health and wellbeing across the nation. The NHS Long Term Plan also emphasises the important role of local Partnerships to deliver these new ways of working.
In Humber, Coast and Vale – an area which includes the cities of Hull and York and large rural areas across East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire – we are developing our own Long Term Plan, which will set out our collective aims and ambitions and explain how we will implement the NHS Long Term Plan in our area over the next five years.
The Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership, a collaboration of 28 health and social care organisations in the area, is hosting three engagement events across the region during summer to give people the opportunity to help develop our Long Term Plan and shape the future of health and care in their region.

Andrew Burnell, Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership Lead, said: “The Partnership Long Term Plan will set out our collective aims and ambitions over the next five years and describe how we will make the changes and deliver the improvements set out in the NHS Long Term Plan. It is essential that the people living and working in Humber, Coast and Vale are given the opportunity to have their say on what the plan should look like.
“We want to hear the views of a wide variety of people so if you have an interest in the future of health and care in the Humber, Coast and Vale area, please register for one of the engagement events we are hosting during the summer. We look forward to hearing your views as they will be crucial in informing the development of our Partnership Long Term Plan.”
