We are deeply saddened and appalled by the violent events that transpired in Hull and other towns and cities over the weekend. We stand with all our colleagues at NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board in condemning these acts of violence, racism and vandalism in the strongest possible terms.
Our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all remains unwavering. Violence and discrimination have no place in our society, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that everyone feels safe, respected, and valued.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated colleagues in the NHS who worked diligently over the weekend. Your professionalism and dedication in the face of such challenging circumstances are deeply appreciated. We are also immensely grateful to our partners, Humberside Police, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, and Hull City Council and many others for their swift and effective response to the Hull incident and to members of the community who supported the clean-up operation.
To our colleagues, patients, and the public who were impacted, whether directly or indirectly, we offer our deepest empathy. We understand the distress and fear that such events can cause, and reiterate that acts of racism, abuse and violence will not be tolerated towards any NHS colleagues.
We urge everyone in our community to come together and reaffirm our shared commitment to peace, inclusivity, and mutual respect. Together, we can overcome the challenges we face and build a stronger, more harmonious community for all.
