As I see it – the latest blog from Sue Symington

The ICB board are deeply saddened and appalled by the violent events that transpired in Hull and other towns and cities over the weekend. The board stand with all our colleagues across our Integrated Care System in condemning these acts of violence, racism and vandalism.

Our NHS is made up of a staff of over 200 nationalities. Every one of those staff is welcome in our organisations; every one of those staff is valued and respected – our diversity is our strength.

Violence and discrimination have no place in our society, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. Our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all remains unwavering.

The ICB board want to give their thanks to our dedicated teams in Hull who worked diligently over the weekend, and whose professionalism and dedication in the face of such challenging circumstances are deeply appreciated. We are also immensely grateful to our partners, Humberside Police, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, Hull City Council and many others for their swift and effective response to the Hull incident and to members of the community who supported the clean-up operation.
