People living in Humber, Coast and Vale are invited to help shape the future of acute hospital services in the area at engagement events taking place in October.
They are encouraged to share their views at patient workshops being held in Grimsby, Hull, Willerby and Scunthorpe. These events allow attendees to share their thoughts on ideas being explored for the future provision of acute hospital services in the Humber area – which includes Hull, East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.
The patient workshops are part of a series of engagement events relating to the Humber Acute Services Review, which is looking at a number of hospital services at the five hospitals in the Humber area – Scunthorpe General Hospital, Grimsby’s Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Hull Royal Infirmary, Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham and Goole and District Hospital.
Earlier this year, several focus groups were held across the Humber area to capture the views of current and former patients with experience of using cardiology, critical care, stroke, neurology or complex rehabilitation hospital services.
The NHS and other partners working together to plan for the long-term future of acute hospital services through the Humber Acute Services Review would now like to hear peoples’ views on care when you need it unexpectedly (urgent and emergency care); planned care (planned surgery or outpatients services); and care for women and children (maternity and paediatrics).
Anyone interested in these services is welcome to attend these workshops to find out more and have their say about the ideas being explored to provide the best hospital care for people living in Hull, East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire, and make best use of the money, clinicians and buildings that are available in the area.
