Due to unforeseen issues with building work, the move of the Story Street NHS walk-in centre will be delayed until further notice, and will not take place on 8 January 2024 as previously advertised.
The delay has been caused by issues with underground electrical cables at the Hull Royal Infirmary site where the new facility will be based. Work is already underway to correct the problem and ensure that the new site is ready to provide urgent care for minor injuries and illnesses as soon as possible.
It is important to stress that there will be no break in services for patients, with the walk-in centre remaining open on Story Street until the new site is ready. People who need medical support for minor illness are encouraged to continue to use Story Street walk-in centre as normal which is open from 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week.
We are disappointed by the unforeseen delay and apologise if this has caused confusion for people in Hull and East Yorkshire. A revised launch date will be announced shortly.
