I am pleased to announce that the 2021/22 Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership’s strategic objectives have been published.
The strategic objectives, which have also been summarised into an infographic and a highlights video, set out the direction of travel of the Partnership over the next 12 months, which culminates in the HCV Partnership, as the region’s integrated care system, being embedded into legislation from April 2022 subject to legislation approval.
The objectives have been developed in collaboration with health and care leaders in Humber, Coast and Vale, including senior leaders from our NHS organisations and local authorities. They reflect our collective desire to improve the health of our people, in-keeping with our start well, live well, age well ambition.
The past year or so has been very testing due to the challenge that coronavirus has presented our health and care system. In responding to Covid-19, we will continue to use the strength of the Partnership to support organisations to work together for the good of our communities, patients and staff.
In terms of Covid-19, the attention will be to continue to strengthen partnership working at all levels to continue to combat the consequences of the pandemic and build back resilient health and care services that fulfil the needs of our communities, patients and our staff.
Also, as part of this reset and redesign, it’s fundamentally important that we address the wider societal and economic impact of Covid-19, as well as other health inequalities which have been exacerbated by the pandemic.
The pandemic has been extremely tough for our patients and our staff, which is why, in delivering the HCV Partnership’s 21/22 Operating Plan, we will support the health and wellbeing of staff and invest in recruitment and retention of our workforce and establish governance to ensure our people receive the high-quality care they deserve.
We will also recover and transform our mental health and learning disabilities services, expand capacity in primary care to improve access and transform community and urgent and emergency services.
In respect of the leadership and development of our integrated care system the focus will be on the delivery and development of key strategies, such as the 21/22 Humber, Coast and Vale People Plan and the 2022/27 Humber, Coast and Vale strategy which will build on our start well, live well, age well vision through a co-production exercise engaging place, communities and other stakeholders.
We will manage the transition to new arrangements for integrated cares systems in accordance with the Government’s White Paper to improve health and social care services.
This includes successfully redeploying people in accordance with the employment commitment in the policy guidance for integrated care systems and the regional guidelines agreed by NHS England and NHS Improvement and the integrated care systems in North East and Yorkshire.
