Views of cardiology or critical care patients sought

Current and former patients are being asked to help shape the future of Humber-based hospital cardiology and critical care services.

They are encouraged to share their views at patient focus group events being held in Grimsby and Willerby in late January.

The Grimsby patient focus group takes place on Monday, 28th January 2019 (9.30am-11.30am) at the Pelham Suite, Cambridge Road, Grimsby, DN34 5SZ. You can register for this event here

The Willerby patient focus group event takes place on Tuesday, 29th January 2019 (10am-12pm) at the Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel, Grange Park Lane, Willerby, HU10 6EB. You can register for this event here

Organisers would particularly like to hear from:

  • People who have used cardiology services recently
  • People who have a heart condition or know someone who does
  • People who have used intensive care units (ICUs) or know someone who has
  • People with experience of critical care services

The events will also feature short presentations from local doctors working in cardiology or critical care, in which they will explain some of the issues they are finding challenging within their services.

Organisers would also like to hear from those who have used these services recently, particularly what aspects of the service worked well and where improvements to care could be made.

The patient focus group events are part of a series of engagement events relating to the Humber Acute Services Review, which is looking at a number of hospital services at the five hospitals in the Humber area – Scunthorpe General Hospital, Grimsby’s Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Hull Royal Infirmary, Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham and Goole and District Hospital.
