The VCSE sector is an important partner for statutory health and social care organisations and plays a key role in improving health and care outcomes for its communities, not only by delivering services but also by shaping their design and advocating for, representing and amplifying the voice of service users, patients and carers.
Humber and North Yorkshire VCSE Collaborative
The Humber and North Yorkshire Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Collaborative represents the wider VCSE sector and comprises of Place Leads from VCSE sector infrastructure organisations, the NHS, and the VCSE Collaborative staff team.
The VCSE Collaborative sits within the governance of Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership and is equal to the other Collaboratives of Mental Health, Primary Care, Acute and Community. Find out more about our work below and in our introductory video.

Humber and North Yorkshire VCSE Collaborative has launched a workspace on FutureNHS, a free, secure collaboration platform for people in health and care, including Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector colleagues and volunteers.
As well as news and information from the VCSE Collaborative, you will find updates on our programmes of work, links to your local VCSE Assembly/Alliance, reports and case studies from VCSE sector organisations doing amazing things across our region.

To help identify the care pathways currently available to adults with co-existing substance use and mental health problems who present in crisis to Emergency Departments (ED) across Humber and North Yorkshire, the centre is holding a process mapping event at the University of Hull in September 2025.
They will hold the event on Friday 26 September 2025 at the University of Hull from 9am – 12.30pm.

Training and Events
The following training and events are open to staff and volunteers of voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations based and operating in Humber and North Yorkshire.
24 September – 12 – 1:30pm
5 November – 12-1:30pm
This training is aimed at line managers (of any profession, banding or
grade), peers and colleagues working in Health and Social Care roles who have caring responsibilities for staff – for example clinical and educational supervisors, team leaders, members of staff networks, health and wellbeing champions or Wellbeing Guardians.

25 September, 9am
This session is for everyone, whether experiencing menopause or supporting someone who is. It covers what menopause is, why and when it occurs, and management strategies. Participants will learn to have supportive conversations about menopause and understand how partners, team members, or family can help provide the right support
Being aware of the signs and symptoms of cancer and detecting it early can save lives. Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance’s free cancer awareness sessions can teach you about what to look for, cancer prevention, the national cancer screening programmes, and much much more.

The HEY Business, Growth and Skills Hub Skills Network is hosting two webinars, updating stakeholders on developments in Adult Skills Fund commissioning in Hull and East Yorkshire.
Delegates will receive information on the HEY Combined Authority’s proposed approach to the commissioning of the Adult Skills Fund for the 2026/27 academic year. The webinars will also feature updates on the procurement of contracts for services for Adult Skills Funded provision for the 2025/26 academic year, led by East Riding of Yorkshire and Hull City Councils.

They are interested in involving a wide range of representatives from different services: Ambulance, Police, ED staff (nurses, clinicians), primary care staff, addiction services, mental health services (community, liaison, crisis care and home treatment teams), approved mental health professionals, crisis care facilities (e.g. crisis houses, crisis pad, crisis cafes), and VCSE services who support people with mental health or addiction problems.
